How does the Alabama League do it? Where do coaches learn how to start and manage a high school mountain bike team? What are the do’s and dont’s of maintaining a healthy team or new league in your state? The annual Leaders’ Summit brings together coaches and leaders for an important weekend of hands-on education about what it takes to be an exemplary NICA coach. Check the CALENDAR OF EVENTS page for upcoming dates for the Leaders' Summit as well as all other league events.

EVENT DETAILS

The Alabama High School Cycling League’s annual Leaders’ Summit brings together coaches, assistant coaches, ride leaders, parent volunteers, team directors and anyone interested in learning more about our coaching and teaching methods to develop skills and knowledge, share strategy and build community.  This conference will promote a well-rounded approach to coaching that creates an environment in which high school students can grow and thrive.  This is a great opportunity to spend a weekend in the company of peers and energize for the upcoming season.

Our Summit is held at the beautiful Lake Guntersville Lake Lodge.  This location is located in the north east part of the state on the Tennessee river. The state park offers a secluded getaway that feels miles away from the city.  While there we will have access to all camp amenities including:
  • Canoeing
  • Fishing (group supplies poles)
  • Swimming
  • Hiking

  • Zip Lining
  • Campfires
  • Outdoor Basketball and Volleyball
  • Lakefront Activities

In addition we will plan group rides throughout the weekend.  Our goal is to make sure all attendees walk away from this summit not only with a wealth of information and some new mountain bike skills, but also having spent time making new friends and riding great trails.
